Chris started doing hardwood floors for a company in Gladwyne, PA until they closed. At that time, he had been there for 8 years and was doing floors on the weekends for side work. He had built a nice clientele list by then and decided to go out on his own. The Floor Guy and Sons Company was started and for the past twenty-five years, the same family still answers the phone, still measures every job by hand, and still finishes every floor with three coats — never two. We’ve turned down work that didn’t feel right. We’ve stayed up late and worked long days to make sure the job was done on time. When you hire Chris, you get a guy who is dedicated to doing your job right.
If you’ve got an old floor that needs some love, or a new house that needs a floor with character, we’d be honored to come take a look.
Joe Sr. starts The Floor Guy out of his garage in Drexel Hill with a borrowed drum sander, a Ford F-150, and a phone book listing.
Joe Jr. and Mike join the family business after high school. The truck gets a new name. The work doubles, then triples.
A wide-plank install in Bryn Mawr marks our 1,000th completed project. We celebrate with sandwiches from Carlino's.
Voted Haverford Township's small business of the year by popular vote. We are quietly very proud.
If we say Tuesday at 8, we're at the door at 7:55 with coffee. We don't subcontract our schedule out, and we don't double-book.
Every estimate is in writing, line-by-line. The price you see is the price you pay — no surprise change orders for "more poly than expected."
Every floor we finish gets sealed with one base and two top coats. It costs us a little more time. It buys you 5–10 more years.
Containment plastic, HEPA dust collection, broom-and-vac at the end of every day. Your house is your house — we're just visiting.

We'd love to walk through your house and talk about your floors. Free estimate, no pressure.
